Oh no!

Molly has hives!

Of course, I immediately worried that she had some flesh eating disease or another variation of some contagious and traumatic illness. And, in my panic and horror, I rushed her to the peditrician. To my defense, even the doc said it was a pretty good case. But hives nonetheless.

Now that we know it is hives, we are deperately trying to figure out what she is reacting to. We're racking our brains revisiting everything she has eaten or come into contact with -- but can't come up with anything unusual. Too much fruit? maybe. The cereal in the organic Yo Baby yogurt? really? The snap peas she shared with Jon? seems unlikely. Who knows!

Benadryl to the rescue!

Elmo Soup

Yesterday I asked Molly if she wanted soup for lunch, which she did (she loves soup). I offered to make her Elmo soup (I know, I know...but it is organic) which made her very happy. She started to blow on the soup (in the can, but at least she knows that it will be hot) and do the happy dance. I told her it would take a few minutes before it was ready but she wanted a bowl anyhow (preparedness!). I gave her a bowl and turned back to prepare her soup. A moment later she said, "Mama, look!" I turned around and she held up the bowl, which now had a stuffed Elmo doll in it, and said "Elmo soup!" and started to laugh. As did I...

The beach in January

Ah...California (and global warming!)

We took a day trip to Stinson Beach today and enjoyed a little new year's fun in the sun. Molly ate her fair share of sand and we all played in the waves. The weather was an unbelieveable 73 degrees F. I just can't get over how much fun Molly is. She has so much to say and such a funny sense of humor. OK so the child never sleeps but at least she is happy when she is awake. And such a social girl, makes friends whereever we go!

Here are a few pics from today:
