Oh Yuk!

Jonathan just came in to tell me that Molly licked a worm.

Molly's first ride on a train.

We took Amtrak from Sacramento to Davis this morning and then went to the Davis Farmers' Market. So much fun! Molly LOVED the train and kept saying "whoa" and "wow" She loved losing her balance as the train rocked on the tracks and looking out the window at everything going by.

Then when we got to Davis and the market, the park was full of sign ups for summer activities--everyone promoting their programs. We petted puppies from the SPCA, made a button and decorated a t-shirt from UCDavis Kids' programs, played at the Waldorf table, and tumbled with many other kids on the mat. Molly even stood up on the balance bean and walked across on her own!! What a fun morning! Topped off with breakfast at Cafe Bernardo's.

On her own...

I read somewhere that it is a good idea to give toddlers a bit of space so that they learn independence and self-play. I felt guilty at the possibility that I might have become one of those (gasp!) hovering mothers. So I left Molly in her room to play a bit on her own. After a few minutes I got an eerie feeling that it was just a bit too quiet. Here is what I found...
